Dear Ratepayers,

Please join your council and two members of the County of Wetaskiwin tonight, Monday, September 15 at 7pm via Zoom and in-person at the Ma-Me-O Hall to ensure all ratepayers have another opportunity to ask questions and receive information. Details for Zoom are listed below.

We sincerely apologize for the technical failure that interrupted the online portion of our September 10th Viability Audit Town Hall and look forward to connecting with you again tonight.  Please find attached the transcript of the September 10 Town Hall meeting.

A few notes for Zoom attendees to help ensure a smooth and respectful meeting: Please keep the following in mind.

  1. Join Early – Log in a few minutes before the meeting starts to test your connection, audio, and video. We will open the Zoom call 15 minutes before the start time to ensure everyone is added before the meeting begins. 
  2. Identify Yourself – Use your full name (in CAPS) when joining so Council and fellow ratepayers know who is speaking.
  3. Mute When Not Speaking – Keep your microphone muted until it’s your turn to talk to minimize background noise.(Council will typically employ the mute all option).
  4. Use the “Raise Hand” Feature – Indicate when you’d like to speak; the moderator will recognize participants in order. EACH SPEAKER WILL HAVE 5 MINUTES MAX PER QUESTION.
  5. Stay on Topic – Keep comments and questions focused on the agenda to allow time for all voices.
  6. Be Respectful – Speak clearly, listen attentively, and allow others to finish before responding.
  7. Use Chat Appropriately – Limit chat to relevant questions or technical issues; avoid side conversations.
  8. Prepare Questions in Advance – Having questions ready helps ensure a productive and efficient session.
  9. Check Your Environment – Choose a quiet, well-lit space with minimal distractions if possible.
